WHAT IS SPAM and EGG MUSUBI?
Musubi is a Hawaiian snack that combines Asian and American influences. Often compared to a sushi roll, Spam musubi is a perfect on-the-go meal or a tasty addition to a picnic. This recipe calls for just a few ingredients—Spam, eggs, rice, and nori.
INGREDIENTS
Turkey Spam: The macros for this high protein turkey Spam and egg Musubi are based on using the Oven Roasted Turkey Spam, instead of Classic Spam. Don't throw away the container! We'll be using that later to shape the musubis.
Egg Beaters: Marcos here reflect using Egg Beaters, which is a brand of cartoned egg whites. These are 25 calories and 5 grams of protein per serving.
Salt: To season the eggs.
Nori sheets: Nori sheets are dried seaweed sheets that are commonly used for sushi, onigiri, musubi, etc. It comes in different sizes and textures, but I just use this one.
White rice: Remember to measure out the white rice after it's cooked.
