Did you know there's a lower calorie and higher protein spam? It's turkey spam! Here's my take on a low calorie, high protein turkey spam musubi.
Here's how I made it:
First, take the spam out of the container. Don't throw the container out! You're gonna need it for later.
Then, cut your spam into slices. Lightly spray your pan with oil. Over medium heat, sear both sides of spam. Then, remove the spam from the pan and set aside.
Add egg beaters to the pan and season with salt, as desired. Cover the pan with a lid and flip when eggs begin to fluff up.
Use the spam container like a cooke cutter to cut out the egg into the musubi shape.
Then, in the spam container, layer inside the spam, egg, and then 45g of rice. Pack it into the bottom of the spam container so that it holds its shape.
Cut the nori paper into thirds (depending on the size of your nori sheet). Invert the spam container onto the nori so that the egg, spam, and rice pop out into a neat musubi shape.
Then wrap the nori around and voila!
I like to eat it with a drizzle of Japanese BBQ sauce - as seen in my video.
